New Year!

Hello All!

We have just returned back from Christmas break and our diving in already! We consist of some editors that you all are familiar with and a group of brand new students, we have expanded class this semester are looking forward to our best magazine yet! Hope you all had a wonderful christmas and new year and are as excited as we are to see what we are capable up for our spring edition of The Gihon River Review. We have guest writer's, poetry slam's, and parties planned all year so stay tuned for what's coming up next!

Dead Poet's Society

Tonight Gihon will be hosting it's first annual movie night!!! Beginning at 8:30 in Stearns Cinema. We will be showing Dead Poet's Society starring Robin Williams. There will be a raffel held during the movie and the winner will be chosen when it ends! Prizes include; 25$ towards Forget-Me-Not Shop, Free large Pizza from DJ's, and more! Join us for snacks, a movie and a good time! See you there!

Poetry Slam

The first Poetry Slam put on by Gihon River Review was a great success! There was a huge turnout by Johnson State students. The grand winner was Ashley McCauliff with a deeply powerful piece, that moved the crowd and judges. The judges, Jacob White, Margo Warden, President Barbara Murphy, did an outstanding job, and we greatly appreciate their help. We are planning another Slam for next semester because of the awesome attendance. So stay tuned for further information. Remember I Slam therefore I am!
